Three of Dolly’s early-1970s albums, also including My Tennessee Mountain Home and Jolene, have just been remastered and re-released. All are can’t-miss classics, but it’s 1971’s Coat of Many Colors that announced Dolly as a major talent. The title cut remains a perfect country song, but there’s more to savor here. The bonus tracks include a bare-bones demo of the hit “My Blue Tears” that demonstrates that young Dolly knew full well how to knock you flat with only her voice, guitar and pen.
