Charlotte’s Web: Music Inspired by the Motion Picture

Billy Ray Cyrus’ recent forays into inspirational music have clearly been invigorating for him—for proof, just listen to his underappreciated 2003 gospel effort, The Other Side. Unfortunately, they’ve also gotten him stranded on this collection of Christian artists performing songs that allegedly have something to do with the recent live-action movie version of Charlotte’s Web (featuring the voice of Reba McEntire, who is not heard on the album). Billy Ray’s “I Wonder” is one of the few high points on an album that sags with blandly uplifting whitebread rock and treacly pop.
