Celebrating With Friends

Johnny Gimble has been “fiddlin’ around” since the age of 12, and he brings in a crew of some of Nashville’s finest to join him on this Ray Benson-produced album, including Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and Dale Watson. Johnny’s Western-swing style of fiddle playing is indicative of his stint as one of Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys and he expertly backs some of music’s finest voices here. Vince Gill sounds wonderfully laid back on “Somewhere South of San Antone,” while Johnny’s granddaughter Emily’s jazzy voice is the centerpiece of “If I Had You.”
