Brand New Year (Lyric Street)

SHeDaisy Album Cover

Want a SHeCHRISTMAS? Then put on this innovative CD by our favorite trio of sisters.

If it's traditional holiday crooning you desire, head for Bing Crosby, Andy Williams and Johnny Mathis. Here the three Osborn sisters put their own spin on songs, rendering some of them - "Jingle Bells," for example - virtually unidentifiable, yet enjoyable. There's a brilliant take on "What Child Is This," and heavenly harmonics enrich "The Secret Of Christmas." But you may have trouble grasping "A Really, Really Merry Scary Intro." If so, join the crowd.

To get the most out of this album, just pretend John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr had three daughters who smoked too much mistletoe and decided to eat three boxes of sugar cookies. Then pretend the hyper-trio made an album of alleged holiday songs. There ya go.

Although the concept seems odd, the CD is really a delightful melange of melodies and lyrics. If you're tired of hearing the same old version of "Sleigh Ride" for the thousandth time, try the SHeDAISY version.
