Almost My Record

Record labels are increasingly turning to online retailers as a way to test the waters with developing artists, which is why we now get this aptly titled five-song digital-only EP from one of the year’s most promising newcomers. Almost My Record offers a tantalizing 20-minute taste of Sarah’s smart, original songwriting and compelling sugar-and-sandpaper voice. Her Top 40 hits “That Kind of Day” and “Innocence” are included, but the highlight here is her own version of “Stupid Boy,” the Keith Urban hit she co-wrote. Consider Almost My Record a delicious appetizer—one that should leave listeners craving the main course.
