The title seems straightforward enough, but it’s not quite accurate—several of Alan’s biggest hits are nowhere to be found, although 16 of His Biggest Hits admittedly wouldn’t have quite the same ring. “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning),” “Where I Come From” and “Little Bitty,” to name a few, outstripped the chart performances of almost everything here—and there’s nothing at all included from the last five years. Those shortcomings (and the cheesy packaging) aside, 16 Biggest Hits is a generous bargain-priced sampler for the casual fan who’s ready to start getting to know Alan.
