Country’s long-ago fascination with the art of truck driving is making a comeback, as demonstrated by recent album-length tributes to the long-haul culture from Aaron Tippin and Dale Watson. Add veteran comic Ray Stevens to the road-running renaissance, as One for the Road offers up 15 songs set (mostly) in the truck cabs and truck stops of America. The production is a little sterile for such a naturally gritty topic, but Ray is in fine voice at age 70 and his energetic delivery is as engaging as ever. (Available exclusively at Pilot Travel Centers through Labor Day, and at other retailers afterward.)
