Trisha Yearwood had plenty to announce as she hosted a special industry event at Nashville entertainment venue The Cordelle, Tuesday night (Aug. 19).
“There’s a lot of good stuff going on,” Trisha told the crowd of industry executives and media, and that turned out to be a bit of understatement.
Trisha revealed that she has signed with a new record label, Sony Music Nashville, and is set to release a new album, titled PrizeFighter.
“That is a song on the album that is about beating the odds and fighting, no matter what,” she explained. “I think it's a message that we all need to hear.”
A release date for the record has not yet been determined. This will mark Trisha’s first new album since 2007’s Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love.

As fans know, Trisha is becoming just as celebrated for her culinary skills as for her vocal prowess. She has authored two best-selling cookbooks and will release a third in April 2015, titled Trisha’s Table. Her cooking series on Food Network, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, will begin its fifth season on Aug. 23.
Playing off the success of the Food Network series, Trisha announced that she is starting her own line of Precious Metals cookware, which will be available on QVC this November and in 400 Walmart stores beginning in the spring of 2015. The cookware is nonstick and will come in three different tones.
Trisha wrapped up the event by performing several songs for the audience, soaring on new tune “Your Husband’s Cheating on Us,” her 1992 hit “Wrong Side of Memphis” and other selections.
Before her performance, Trisha drew laughs as she alluded to her upcoming 50th birthday, Sept. 19. “I’m saying that I'm 49 every day for the next 30 days,” she quipped.
Spotted mingling and visiting during the evening were the duo of Joey+Rory—Rory Feek and wife Joey Martin Feek—songwriter Matraca Berg and husband Jeff Hanna of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and songwriters Jessi Alexander and Sarah Buxton. Guests dined on Food Network-prepared goodies of ham and biscuits, Key lime cake and other delights.
