CW On the Edge favorite Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors is one of those hard-touring groups with deep roots in the South. Now leader Drew, a native of Memphis who resides in Nashville, has organized the inaugural Moon River Music Festival at his hometown’s Levitt Shell on June 7 .
Joining his band for the festival is a diverse lineup of performers including Will Hoge, The Dirty Guv’nahs, Holly Williams, Rob Baird, Ellie Holcomb, Judah & the Lion, Dwan Hill and Memphis-based performers Stax Music Academy Alumni, Myla Smith and Apollo Mighty.
“Memphis is an underrated city, but it has a lot of soul and cultural richness,” said Drew in a statement. “On top of that, Memphis is home for me. I’m grateful for this city for what it gave me—for the record store I went to growing up to allowing me to play shows when I had no other places to go. I can’t separate my life as a musician from the roots that Memphis gave me. It’s who I am.”
