Just yesterday we got the exciting news of Miranda Lambert’s new album, Platinum , which is due out June 6, and the intriguing notion that it will contain a duet with Carrie Underwood.
Miranda didn’t give much in the way of specifics in a recent video interview with the Associated Press (watch above), but did say she was a Carrie fan and felt nervous even asking her to be on the song. “Singing with Carrie Underwood is very, very intimidating, I’ll be honest,” she said. “She is an amazing vocalist. I’m a big fan of hers. Asking her to do this was nerve-racking.”
The song, reportedly called “Something Bad,” will sound “in your face,” according to Miranda. It’s also a rare occasion when two female country artists at the top of their game are collaborating—something much more common with their male counterparts.
At any rate, Miranda hopes that some of her fire-starter persona may rub off on Carrie when they film a video for the tune. “I’m hoping she’ll come to the dark side and blow something up or set something on fire in the video or whatever,” she said, laughing.
