Last week, Florida Georgia Line expanded the trophy cabinet some when they took home two CMA Awards, for Vocal Duo of the Year and Single of the Year (“Cruise”).
The duo’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley are still riding high from the exhilarating night that had them checking yet another accomplishment off the bucket list.
“It’s amazing,” Tyler tells Country Weekly. “It’s one of those dreams come true . . . another one for us this year. It was a big night and just an honor to be there. It was a great night for us to hang out with our moms and experience the whole thing. We couldn’t be happier. It was a huge honor.”
And just how will they celebrate winning their first CMA awards? Not even they know just yet, but one thing is for sure: It won’t be a one-night party!
“I think it’s probably going to be one long continuous celebration until the end of the year,” says Brian, beaming. "We’re just pumped. I think it’s kind of given us and our whole crew a little extra burst of energy. It feels like a whole new chapter, and that’s kind of how it felt from the time we won our ACM award [earlier this year] to now. It feels good.”
FGL has now taken the CMA celebration out on the road. Over the weekend, the two picked back up on their Here’s to the Good Times Tour, also featuring Colt Ford and Tyler Farr.
Later this month (Nov. 25), FGL will release a deluxe version of their debut album, titled Here’s to the Good Times . . . This Is How We Roll. The project will contain all 11 tracks found on their Here’s to the Good Times album as well as six new tunes.
