It's only been two years since Frankie Ballard released his self-titled debut album, but since then he’s toured with some heavy hitters in the music industry, including Bob Seger, he’s become an even more proficient guitar picker and he's written songs. Lots of songs. But those aren’t the only changes Frankie has made.
“I feel a lot more mature,” he tells Country Weekly. “And there’s no way that can’t leak its way into the music. I’ve spent two years playing on the road and winning new fans and listening to what turns them on when I step onstage. There’s been two years of that going into my brain since the last record, so that’s had an effect. And yeah, some definite soul searching. It’s hard not to think about your music and think about your career and who you are when what you do is so public and reviewed and judged.”
The debut single, “Helluva Life,” from Frankie’s next album, which is still in production, is already burning up the airwaves at country radio.
