Big congratulations to Justin Moore, whose newest album, Off the Beaten Path, debuted at the top of Billboard's Top Country Albums chart this week, eclipsing debuts from his pals Chris Young and Billy Currington with nearly 97,000 units sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
That’s great news for Justin, but what’s bigger news is that the album debuted at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Off the Beaten Path was barely edged out for the No. 1 spot by Jack Johnson’s new album, From Here to Now to You.
And to further prove that country music is America’s music, Chris Young’s new album, A.M., came in at No. 3 across all genres and Billy Currington’s new release, We Are Tonight, closed out the Top 10. And in between, you’ll find Luke Bryan’s Crash My Party at No. 6 and Keith Urban’s Fuse at No. 8.
If you’re keeping score, that makes five country albums in the nation’s all-genre Top 10 albums this week. Boom.
Interestingly, Billy includes a cover of Jack Johnson’s "Banana Pancakes" on his album. And it’s yummy.
