Taylor Swift has always enjoyed a squeaky-clean reputation among fans and the music industry, but she may have scuffed up that image a little Sunday night (Aug. 25) at the MTV Video Music Awards.
When ex-boyfriend Harry Styles of One Direction was onstage presenting, Taylor, in the crowd, turned to her pal Selena Gomez and mouthed the words, "Shut the f--- up."
Oh, but the sass didn't stop there.
Taylor got best female video for "I Knew You Were Trouble," and she ended her speech with, "I also want to thank the person who inspired this song, who knows exactly who he is because now I got one of these."
The cameras cut to Harry in the crowd, but Taylor released the song before she started dating him, so Harry probably wasn't the target of her comment.
But it was Taylor's profane observation from the audience that got most of the attention online. Within hours, there were hundreds of posts of video and one memorable GIF started making the rounds on the Web.
No reaction from Harry Styles as of early Monday morning.
