Kip Moore is on the proverbial roll these days, as he just racked up his third consecutive No. 1 single, "Hey Pretty Girl." Kip marked his latest accomplishment at an industry party at the Flying Saucer restaurant in Nashville, Thursday (Aug. 22), with co-writer Dan Couch by his side. And the red-hot artist noted that celebrating the honor with Dan was the highlight of the day.
"The best thing about this is I get to share it with a guy who believed in me and I believed in him," Kip told members of the media prior to the party. Dan had been in Nashville for several years and never scored a major hit until Kip's debut single, "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck," which the two co-wrote. "The cool thing is that it's not about accolades," Kip added. "It's just sharing this experience."
Kip also talked about expanding his audience by touring with a variety of artists. He has toured with Toby Keith and is preparing for upcoming shows with Lady Antebellum. "When Toby asked me to go [on tour] with him, I knew it wasn't my normal crowd," Kip explained. "But that's what I like. I want to be able to appeal to many people. It also makes you raise your game because you have to learn how to adapt as a performer. I'll be learning how to adapt when I go out on the Lady A tour," Kip added. "I'm sure their crowd will be a little different than my normal crowd. But I enjoy that part."
During the party, Kip received a vintage Gibson guitar from his publisher Brett James, a top songwriter who served as a mentor to Kip in his early days.
Congratulations to Kip and Dan Couch for their latest No. 1!
