Carrie Underwood shared the stage with a young Make-A-Wish recipient named Kaitlyn on Friday night (Aug. 16) at a country music festival in Brownsville, Ore.
“She’s totally gonna upstage me, she’s totally gonna make me look bad, but hey . . . Let’s give her some love right now,” Carrie told the crowd, according to a fan-posted video of the duet .
Fun times in Oregon! Thanks to all who came out to have fun tonight! And a special thanks to my duet partner, Kaitlyn! #AllAmericanGirl — Carrie Underwood (@carrieunderwood) August 17, 2013
Then Kaitlyn, in skirt, denim vest and cowboy hat, confidently sang “All-American Girl” and strutted around the stage with Carrie.
Kaitlyn even threw a fist in the air at one point, and she put up both hands to acknowledge the applause at the end of the song.
“So awesome!” Carrie said.
“That was professional right there. If I was her and I was walking out here at her age in front of this crowd, woah, I probably would’ve just stood there. That was very impressive.”
Then Carrie added, “Good night, everybody! Just kidding.”
Afterward, Carrie tweeted , “A special thanks to my duet partner, Kaitlyn!”
