In a video released today by Baylor Medical Center in McKinney, Texas , the attending physicians of country star Randy Travis said the “Three Wooden Crosses“ singer is suffering from congestive heart failure.
“Mr. Randy Travis was admitted through an emergency department to Baylor Medical Center at McKinney on Sunday, July 7,” said Dr. William Gray, the director of cardiovascular services at Baylor Medical Center at McKinney. “He had been in previously excellent health until three weeks prior when he developed a viral upper respiratory illness. He was admitted at Baylor McKinney with a presumptive cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure.”
After doctors stabilized Randy at McKinney, he was transferred to the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano for further care. According to Dr. Michael Mack, director of cardiovascular disease at Baylor Health Care System in Dallas, Randy's condition “has stabilized and he has shown signs of improvement" since being transferred.
The hospital will be issuing additional updates as Randy’s condition changes.
