Carrie Underwood was one of the last big country stars to get a Twitter account. But now that she has one, Carrie says she's not afraid to throw out some political opinions.
So far, nothing too controversial: Carrie loves soldiers and animals, hates slavery.
But she did get in a little tussle in Tennessee over a controversial bill about when to report alleged animal abuse. And that tweet led to a conversation with the governor of the Volunteer State.
“Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a thinker and I'm a planner and I would never weigh in on anything unless I know the full story on it,” Carrie told the Associated Press .
“So I do my research. . . . I’m not a political person at all. I doubt anyone can tell you what party I mostly affiliate myself with. But that was just something that was in my backyard.”
And on the back end, Carrie doesn’t regret jumping into the fray.
“I realize it’s not necessarily so scary,” she said. “Most of the comments I get back on anything are positive. There’s the occasional negative one, but I enjoy blocking that person.”
