As coach on NBC’s The Voice, Blake Shelton coaches ’em, develops ’em, holds their hands and cheers on his contestants to victory—three times in a row so far.
And then, it’s suddenly over.
“I’m kind of professionally taken out of these artists’ lives and they move on with the record company and managers and stuff,” Blake told reporters a day after Danielle Bradbery won this last season (June 18).
“You kind of feel helpless at that point sometimes, and you want to see ’em take off.”
But Blake does find ways to stay connected.
“The only things that I can really do, and have done in the past, is take ’em out on tour with me and promote ’em in times like this right here when I’ve got microphones in front of me and then talk about ’em. That’s really all I have to offer,” he said.
“But still, I’m gonna do that. If it’ll help just a little bit, that’s what I wanna do.”
