American Idol runner up Kree Harrison is set to make her Grand Ole Opry debut Tuesday night (June 4).
And it could be really powerful as Kree, 23, says she might honor her late father, Clint Harrison, by singing his favorite hymn.
“My dad’s favorite hymn was ‘In the Garden,’ and I’m really thinking hard about maybe doing that ’cause I always said if I ever play the Opry, I want to sing that song,” Kree told ABC News Radio.
“So I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.”
Kree's dad died in a plane crash off the coast of Spain when Kree was just 11. Eight years later, Kree’s mom died in a car accident.
Kree and her mom moved to Nashville when Kree was in sixth grade, and the country singer has been to the Opry dozens of times. But that doesn’t mean she won’t be nervous.
“I’ve seen so many people at the Opry,” Kree said. “I’ve lived [in Nashville] for 13 years, so for me to be able to stand on that stage, it's going to be a different rodeo.”
