Most of us are happy with a card and cake for our birthday, but when the King of Country Music turns 61 and scores his 60th No. 1 single on the Mediabase chart, it's an all-star celebration!
Country's biggest stars, including Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, along with some of his Texas pals like Jack Ingram and Randy Rogers, and a few other celebs, including former Dallas Cowboy, Troy Aikman, collaborated on a special video wishing King George a happy birthday, along with congratulating him on his 60th No. 1, "Give It All You Got Tonight."
The push for his 60th No. 1 began after George announced his retirement from touring when his record label created the "60 for 60" campaign . Fans were encouraged to create awareness with other fans and with country music media by posting a special logo and message on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages. They were also encouraged to call their local radio stations to request "Give It All You've Got Tonight" to help move it up the radio charts.
And they did!
And it isn't too late to celebrate! Log on to sixtyforsixty.com to see the list of 60 No. 1 singles, download logos and see all of the individual greetings from your favorite country stars. You can also pick up a "60 For 60" T-shirt commemorating the big day!
