If Trace Adkins laid low for a while on his first season of Donald Trump's reality show Celebrity Apprentice, he’s doing anything but for the all-star season that launched Sunday (March 3).
Trace stepped up as project manager right away, promising—and delivering on—big donors for the first challenge.
And he was sassy from the start. In the boardroom before the challenge started, Trace pointed out that—though he came in second to British media personality Piers Morgan—Trace never actually got fired on his first season.
Piers joked that he might have fired Trace.
“I don’t think so,” Trace fired back. “I would’ve slapped the [expletive] outta you.”
The challenge—selling meatballs. Trace made the bold move of shutting down his team’s meatball shop to spend all their efforts contacting rich friends for donations. It paid off—Trace made $670,000, all of which went to his chosen charity, the American Red Cross, which responded quickly after Trace’s house burned down last year.

Trace presented the Red Cross with the check during the March 10 episode of Celebrity Apprentice. Currently the singer serves on the organization's Red Cross Celebrity Cabinet.
“We could not ask for a better representative of the Red Cross,” Red Cross President and CEO Gail J. McGovern said. “Trace brings humor, honesty, hard work and grit to everything he does. On behalf of the countless people who will benefit because of your participation in the ‘Apprentice,’ thank you, Trace, from the bottom of my heart for getting the job done once again.”
