Craig Campbell performed many of the songs from his new EP, Outta My Head, as well as tracks from his self-titled debut album, at an invitation-only event last night (Dec. 4) at Nashville's 12th & Porter.
Despite years of singing at clubs in the city's historic Lower Broadway honky-tonk district, Craig admitted to having a case of nerves while he showcased his new songs. In fact, he became a bit emotional when he thanked the music biz crowd for their support before addressing his wife, Mindy. "I can't promise you that it is going to get better," he said. "Stick with me." He then rolled through a playlist that included his current hit, "Outta My Head," along with such crowd favorites as "When I Get It" and "Fish." One of the show's most poignant moments quieted the room as Craig silenced his band and he sang a final chorus of "Family Man" with just his guitar.
Big congratulations go out to Craig, who was recognized by Bigger Picture label president Michael Powers with a plaque commemorating four consecutive charting hits with more than 1 billion radio airplay audience impressions and over half a million downloads.
That total may soon be increasing, as Craig's Outta My Head EP is now available for download on iTunes.
