Ray Price, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, says that he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and undergone several months of chemotherapy.
The 86-year-old-singer, whose biggest hits include "For the Good Times" and "Crazy Arms," recently confirmed his diagnosis to the San Antonio Express-News. The cancer was discovered as his gall bladder was being removed during an operation. Ray has put a stop to his touring schedule, but he does plan to visit Nashville in November to start recording a new album.
Ray added that his doctor advised him that most men will have cancer if they live to be old enough. "I don't know why I got it," he said. "I ain't old."
