With the presidential election so close, Eric Church agrees with pundits who think it'll come down to independent voters.
"That's who I am," Eric tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette . "I'm there."
But Eric says it's just fine when country artists publicly throw their support behind a candidate—as Rodney Atkins and Alabama lead singer Randy Owen have done for Gov. Mitt Romney.
"I think it's the artist's prerogative," he says. "That's what makes creative people creative people. They can write a song about it, talk about it . . ."
But it's likely you won't see Eric following suit.
"I'm not a political person. Sometimes I feel like maybe that's a flaw. I feel like maybe I should not be as casual as I am, but I never have been real political," he said.
"I guess I look at it sometimes, and I have a hard time telling the difference between them, with Democrats and Republicans. At least for me, it's just not something I'm terribly interested in."
