Jason Aldean led a country invasion of the all-genre Billboard 200 chart by selling 409,000 copies of his new album, Night Train, in its debut week.
And that's a monster number. How big?
Jason had the second-highest-selling debut week of any artist this year, coming in second to the bluegrass-influenced Mumford & Sons, whose Babel sold 600,000 copies in its debut week earlier this month.
On the charts, Mumford & Sons is at No. 2, and R&B artist Brandy is at No. 3 with her new album, Two Eleven.
Scotty McCreery resides at No. 4 with 41,000 copies sold of his new holiday release, Christmas With Scotty McCreery. And Jamey Johnson occupies the No. 5 spot with his album of songwriter Hank Cochran compositions, Living for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran.
And it looks like country music artists won't be letting go of that Billboard 200 top spot anytime soon: Taylor Swift is expected to pass the 1 million mark in her first-week sales for Red.
