The first time Little Big Town performed the song “Here’s Hope”, was earlier this year during the Academy of Country Music Awards Lifting Lives segment in front of thousands of fans and millions of television viewers. The second time they performed the heartwarming anthem, it was in an ordinary school library in front of not much more than a stack of books.
“We recorded it in a high school library, which really seems so fitting,” explains Karen Fairchild of the video for “Here’s Hope," which supports ConAgra’s Child Hunger Ends Here campaign. “A library is the place where children come to learn and it’s perfect to make that a place of change. It’s tough to think about children growing up and suffering because they are scared of not only not having food, but having to go to school hungry. Being a kid is hard enough.”
Recorded in their own distinctive “Scattered, Smothered, and Covered” style, the LBT foursome says that the video serves as just another part of the band’s continuing partnership with ConAgra and their own personal pledge to become a voice to help end child hunger in the United States.
“We want to ultimately inspire and move people to do something,” says Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet, who sat down with CountryWeekly.com just days after recording the video. “This is not an overwhelming thing—we can truly make a change one person at a time.”
“[The video] is really raw and really in the moment,” adds Karen. “We are looking forward to our fans sharing that video with other fans. One single dollar can make a difference.” Fans can visit the ConAgra Foods Facebook page to check out exclusive content and participate in a Q&A session with the band.
