Rock legend Bob Dylan's new album, Tempest, got all sorts of international media attention, scored reviews in every major music publication, even landed a lengthy piece on National Public Radio.
But it wasn't enough to outsell little ol' Little Big Town.
LBT scored its best single-week sales ever with the debut of Tornado, which sold more than 113,000 copies, thanks in large part to the monster hit "Pontoon." That was 3,000 better than Dylan's album, enough to land the country quartet at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. And that's the best debut for LBT on that chart ever.
Dave Matthews Band finished atop the chart with 266,000 copies sold if its new album, Away From the World.
But, in addition to Dylan, LBT beat out sales on just-released albums from The Avett Brothers and ZZ Top.
