Dolly Parton made a special appearance in Nashville, Friday morning (Aug. 10), to celebrate another milestone. Dolly's recent project for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, An Evening With . . . Dolly, was certified gold, marking sales of more than 500,000 copies.
The CD/DVD collection, which also featured behind-the-scenes footage of Dolly's tour of England, was sold exclusively at Cracker Barrel locations and on the Cracker Barrel website. It's the first gold album for the company, which has also released recordings by Kenny Rogers, Josh Turner, The Oak Ridge Boys and other artists.
“I’m very excited about that,” Dolly told the mass gathering of reporters and media members. “This is the first certified gold album that Cracker Barrel has done and the first time they did a DVD with it. It's always meaningful to be in business with people who get you and believe in you. We've made a good team.”
Dolly noted that she never tires of receiving honors and accolades. “It always makes you feel good,” Dolly said. “You never get too old or callous to enjoy the success. At my age,” she added with a perky smile, “I’m thrilled to get anything in this business.”
