Country singer Kip Moore is from a small town in Georgia, and he knows the country lifestyle, right? The guy has a monster hit with “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck,” after all.
Turns out Kip turned to the tropical paradise of Hawaii to get the songwriting juices flowing before he moved to Nashville.
But he wasn’t exactly staying at five-star resorts on the lush island.
“I lived in a hut that was probably 5-by-11-foot concrete slab with a little screen around it,” he recently told reporters.
“Had a little bathroom connected to it and that's all I needed.”
Yes, there was some songwriting, but that’s not all.
“I would hitchhike to the beach every day, and I’d surf and then I’d backpack all over the island and I might be gone for five or six days, and then I’d come back to that hut. I’d have my sleeping bag and that was it.”
Well, that and a killer tan.
