They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery—but it got an Indiana guy two felony counts.
Authorities say 25-year-old Thomas Michael Barth pretended to be Brantley Gilbert and Brantley's agent to get more than $12,000 of music equipment, clothes, electronics and "personal products," The Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne, Ind., reports .
The suspect sent e-mails and text messages posing as Brantley to get the stuff, police charged. Most of it has been returned to the victims, musician Kevin Kyle and a store, Robert's Signs.
Barth was arrested on two felony counts of theft, the newspaper reports.
