Martina McBride is making history at the Academy of Country Music Awards this year—and, in the process, giving one lucky couple a wedding they will never forget. Martina will perform her latest single, "Marry Me," with Train's Pat Monahan (the romantic tune was previously a Top 40 Billboard hit for Train), as the live audience and viewers at home witness the first live wedding ceremony to ever take place during the ACM awards.
Martina hand-selected the couple, Christina Davidson and her fiancé, Frank Tucci. In 2009, Frank lost his first wife to thyroid cancer. The same year, Christina's first husband died in a drowning accident. To ease the grief of losing her husband and to help raise her two sons, Stephen and Paul, Christina started a support group for widows and widowers in Washington Township, N.J. She met Frank through the support group, and the friendship slowly blossomed into love.
On Martina's website , a "wedding invitation" has been posted, along with a tidbit or two of info on the nuptials. Christina will wear an Oleg Cassini gown while reciting her vows.
"What a beautiful couple," Martina said via Twitter , "I can't wait to share in the most special moment of their lives!"
The Academy of Country Music Awards airs Sunday (April 1) on CBS.
