Sugarland pushed back against officials who wanted to delay the Aug. 13 show in Indy because of bad weather that day, one official said under oath, the Associated Press reports .
Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush wanted to move things along so they could get to the next day's gig at the Iowa State Fair, Indiana State Fair executive director Cindy Hoye said during a deposition for a lawsuit in the case.
“They were trying to get to Iowa to play the Iowa State Fair, and so they said they did not want to delay,” Hoye testified as part of a lawsuit filed against the company that built the roof and rigging for the Indy concert.
Seven people died and 58 were injured when winds blew over the stage and rigging.
Sugarland reps didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from the AP or from CountryWeekly.com.
