What’s it like to guest star on your favorite TV show? Miranda Lambert will find out when her episode of Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesday night (Feb. 8) on NBC.
The role, Miranda tells CountryWeekly.com, is decidedly different for her. “I’m a rape victim and I’m a complete opposite of my personality,” she says. “I’m very plain and very subdued—we all know that I’m opposite of that—so it was the greatest experience."
But just because it was a great experience doesn't mean she was comfortable. "I felt [more] uncomfortable than I’ve felt in my life. I was so nervous and so out of my comfort zone," she says, before adding, "It was good for me because you get complacent, you get comfortable. With music I know what I’m doing, I’ve got it down. Acting is something I’ve never done before, so the first second I had to walk in front of that camera with these experienced actors around me, it was so scary."
To her credit, Miranda didn't fall into the trap that a number of country artists do when they make their acting debut: playing themselves on screen. "I didn’t want to play myself, that’s not acting," Miranda explains, "it's just being yourself."
