Can you picture Kenny Chesney as a pop star?
The New York Post is quoting an unidentifed source saying Kenny wants a new record label deal—and that he wants to be more "mainstream."
“He’s very displeased with how Sony has handled him,” a source told the Post. “He wants to be more mainstream.”
The Post goes on to say Kenny is looking for a $30 million, five-album deal.
But Kenny's manager tells the newspaper, "This is very inaccurate. We have no plans to be anything but a country-music artist. . . . Also, we have enjoyed a long-term, successful relationship with Sony. . . . The numbers you speak about and Warner Bros., etc. are purely rumors that are far from the truth.”
