Ya know all that profanity, all those sexual innuendos, all the crazy comments about being drunk that come from Blake Shelton, via Twitter?
Turns out the First Amendment Center loves 'em! Or at least the center loves the idea that First Amendment protects Blake's right to say whatever he wants.
So Blake will be one of several celebs taking part Dec. 15 in the center's "Free to Tweet" contest .
"Free speech comes naturally to Blake Shelton,” First Amendment Center director Ken Paulson said, in what could be the understatement of the year.
“Candor and integrity are hallmarks of his career and we’re very pleased to have him join this effort.”
College students are encouraged to tweet, or use any social media, to trumpet the First Amendment. Just use the hash tag #freetotweet. The center will pass out scholarships based on those entries.
And Blake will be joined by country singers Joe Nichols and Mary Chapin Carpenter, pop singer Ke$ha and other celebs, who will be tweeting away about the First Amendment.
Oh, and it turns out free speech pays—about $5,000 for each scholarship.
