Well, this week started off a little rough. Sitting in the room with everyone after Jessica had been eliminated was hard. As you can tell, we are all emotionally involved in every decision we make to send someone home. I was just mad that anyone would eliminate Jess last week just because she was a "threat" to the game. While this is a competition, ultimately it is about us competing for our lives.
Later on this week, Alison Sweeney told us our first challenge is going to be preparing a meal that Chef Devin Alexander and season 11 winner Olivia Ward are going to judge for a place in Devin's new cookbook. I really enjoyed splitting into our teams. Plus, it was great having Bob and Antone for this challenge. Bob knows a lot about eating healthy and Antone knows his food. After all, he has owned his own restaurant before. I was a little hesitant about the slaw, but it was easy to put my trust in the rest of the Black Team.
The whole time we were cooking, it was fun to joke around with everyone in the kitchen. I couldn't help but make jokes to Dolvett and John about their plate still mooing on the table. Man, that meat was raw! I really enjoyed watching Devin and Olivia's faces as they tried our food. You could tell as soon as their face was on the screen that there was no competing with our dish. It was great that our team won, although never in a million years did I think I would have a recipe in a book called The Biggest Loser Quick & Easy, much less one on how to cook healthy summer slaw.
After winning, Olivia gave us one of the best gifts we could have received: a scrapbook from home. Looking at the pictures of [my girlfriend] Lori and I reignited my fire to really work hard every single day. I look at the pictures of us together and she has so much love for me in her eyes. I was at my worst when she loved me, so I know things will only get better for us.
When it came time for the weigh-in we were told our trainers had to choose one person from each team to represent our teams' weight loss. I was really hoping Bob would choose me to represent the Black Team because I knew I had worked hard all week. However, Becky represented us on the scales. She pulled a great number and we remained safe. Even though my weight didn't count towards the team this week, I was still impressed with the 10 pounds I lost this week. It is so great to continually see my weight loss, especially now that I weigh 345 pounds. If Bob had chosen me, we still would have been safe!
When it came time for elimination, the Blue team was up. Joe pulled a low number this week and his team was not kept safe. Ultimately, he was voted off the ranch.
I hope everyone has gotten a chance to hear my new single I released last week with my band Trailer Choir. We would love for you to check it out. I'll see you on your TV's next week!
