Boy, did this week start off on a different note.
None of us knew what to think when Alison Sweeney told us we needed to have our original jerseys on for the first challenge. We didn't know if we were going to be put on different teams or have to run a mile through the desert again. Either way, neither option seemed like too much fun.
When we were all lined up, Alison regrouped us by age. I thought I was home free on my Red Team with Jessica and Ramon; but I was wrong.
In the first competition, we had to guess the calorie count of our team's favorite meals from home. The person with the closest guess got to choose their trainer for the rest of their time on the ranch.
Everyone on the ranch was a little horrified when they saw what my favorite meal was—they, of course, did not know how to appreciate a Southern granny's home cooking! My chocolate gravy biscuits with bacon and eggs sure did look good. Between my Southern breakfast, Jessica's fattening Caesar salad and Ramon's large taco platter, our calorie count was well over 5,000 calories.
Jessica had the best guess and was able to choose Dolvett as her trainer. I was second and decided to choose Bob. I knew that Anna is much prettier that Bob by a long shot, but I needed a tougher trainer. It was hard to leave Dolvett, but I really got to enjoy working out with Bob at the ranch, plus he is a Tennessee boy.
Having a new team was hard, but Becky and Antone both brought a lot to my weight loss journey. Becky showed me new tricks in the kitchen and Antone had a strong workout mentality that challenged me.
Later on in the week we competed in a water slide challenge. This was by far my favorite challenge. I may not have been the fastest one up the hill, but boy did I fly down that water slide! We didn't win this challenge, but it sure was fun.
We also had a great last-chance workout with Bob. He took us on an amazing hike with a beautiful waterfall. Sometimes you really do have to go through hell to get to heaven.
By the end of the week, I ended up losing 12 pounds. This put my new weight at 355 pounds. I felt like so much weight had come off of me, that I couldn't resist doing the worm. I think that was a big treat for our host, Alison—her face was priceless.
The Black Team, my new team, was safe from elimination, but the Red Team wasn't, and Jessica went home. Seeing her get eliminated was like taking a piece of my heart out. She lost good weight and was doing so well.
Don't forget to tune in next week to see if the Black Team can be safe from another elimination!
