Pop star Lionel Richie is making his first appearance on the Country Music Association Awards show in 25 years, offering a preview of his upcoming country duets album, Tuskegee.
The album name comes from Lionel's hometown in Alabama.
“I was born and raised in Tuskegee, Alabama. I am a country boy and proud of it,” Lionel said in a statement.
The pop singer will perform parts of country duets with Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker and Little Big Town on the awards show, which airs Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
Oh, and Lionel's last appearances at the CMAs? Those happened in 1984, when he sang “Lady” with Kenny Rogers, and in 1986, when he sang “Deep River Woman” with Alabama.
