Usually when stars in Nashville sell their homes, real estate agents whisper, "This house belongs to so-and-so." John Rich is shouting it from the rooftops, or the Internet, anyway.
John is selling the very first home he bought—with proceeds from "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" and Gretchen Wilson's breakout hit, "Redneck Woman"—and he couldn't be more hands-on. John and his real estate agent have created a website, johnrichsneighbor.com, where John himself touts the house, which just so happens to be right next to his current house in the Love Circle area of Nashville.
"Hello, potential buyers, this is John Rich. Would you like to be my neighbor? Because I would like to have you as my neighbor. Won't you be, please won't you be my neighbor?" he says on a video on the site.
After listing the songs he wrote that bought the house, John looks at the camera and says, "Can I get a 'hell yeah'? I know you said it." He then goes on to say that country stars Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean and Wynonna have hung out at that house.
A final sales pitch: "I hope somebody who really loves country music moves in. . . . I'll personally come over with a nickel bottle of champagne and pour you the first glass."
