A show promoter in Florida has accused Bucky Covington and Bucky’s twin brother and sister-in-law of stealing about $1,500 cash, according to a police report posted by TMZ.com . Bucky has taken to his Twitter account to deny any wrongdoing .
In the police report, the promoter says Bucky was set to play June 30 at the Iron Horse Saloon in Ormond Beach, Fla. And here’s where things get a little confusing. That promoter, William Fuller, says he ended up going to the hospital around 9 that night. And when he did, Fuller says Bucky “directed” his twin brother/drummer, Rocky, and Rocky’s wife, Terra, to snatch the cash at the front door. Fuller alleges Terra even sold tickets at the door and pocketed the money.
Bucky’s response: “Hey Guys and Gals, I'm sure most of you have seen the news on TMZ. This story is absolutely false in every way. I would never steal anything from anyone. I did not get paid, but went on to play my full show and had a great time performing for fans! I thank all of you for your continued support!”
Bucky went on to tell The Daytona Beach News-Journal that Fuller didn’t pay any of the vendors that night. “This is just a paint job gone bad,” Covington told the paper.
A Florida state’s attorneys office spokeswoman says the charges are under investigation. Bucky, Rocky and Terra all face felony grand theft charges.
