Sara Evans has been gone for a few years, but returns in a big way with “A Little Bit Stronger,” becoming the first female artist to hit No. 1 this year on both Billboard and Country Aircheck charts.
Female power extended: Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott co-wrote the hit, with songwriters Hillary Lindsey and Luke Laird.
“This song has had the biggest emotional response of any other single I’ve ever released,” Sara said in a statement.
“I think it is because almost everyone has gone through a difficult time in their life and most people can relate to the line in the song ‘even on my weakest days, I get a little bit stronger.’”
It's Sara's first No. 1 since 2005’s “A Real Fine Place to Start.”
“This is my dream, and the passion and desire has never gone away; it was just put on hold for a little while,” she said.
