When their self-titled debut album hit, some skeptics wrote off Rascal Flatts as a "boy band," more style than substance. Two years down the road, the trio silenced such sniping with airtight harmonies and assured performances. Now this album should muzzle any remaining doubters.
Melt presents a confident and in-control band - and from the sound of it, a happy one. Despite the downbeat first hit, “These Days,” most of the 11 tracks here celebrate the joy of love. And why shouldn't they be happy? Rascal Flatts is about to make a few more believers.
