Lately it seems every especially successful album gets a re-release with added content intended to lure new buyers and fans who already bought the album the first time out. The question is always: Is this album worth buying again? In this case, it certainly is—the six new tracks and one-hour DVD would alone be well worth the price, even if the terrific Fearless itself weren’t included. The new songs are especially intriguing for their strikingly mellow and reflective mood, and a mostly piano-and-voice remake of “Forever & Always” nicely demonstrates that Taylor’s knack for ultra-catchy melodies doesn’t require a full band to come across loud and clear.
