Little Billy Gilman has done it again. Not only is he the youngest solo artist ever to see his debut album go platinum, but now he's also become the youngest to receive a Grammy nomination!
In fact, Billy garnered two Grammy nominations when they were announced last week, one for Best Male Country Vocal Performance and one for Best Country Song for his wildly popular single, "One Voice."
The Grammy nominations come on the heels of an astounding six months for the Rhode Island native, in which he's sold more than a million copies of his debut album, One Voice, and 500,000 of his holiday release, Classic Christmas. Not bad for a 12-year-old!
The new year looks to be as promising for Billy as 2000 was. In addition to his Grammy nods, he's been nominated for Favorite New Country Artist at the upcoming American Music Awards, airing Jan. 8 on ABC.
