When Gladiator hunk Russell Crowe stopped in Nashville to pick up a new motorcycle, he never expected to see an old friend's name up on the marquee at the Wildhorse Saloon. But that's exactly what happened last weekend when the Oscar-nominated actor noticed that Jamie O' Neal was performing at the legendary watering hole.
It was an opportunity to good to pass up. Russell, who has his own band in Australia, decided to take the stage with the "There Is No Arizona" singer.
"It was an incredible surprise," said a stunned Jamie. "We were in a play together years ago in Australia. He was singing even before his acting career.
"It was a total last minute thing," she explained. "I asked him if he would like to get up on stage and he said, 'Sure, my guitar is in the car.'
"It all happened 20 minutes before I went on."
Russell wowed the crowd with a cover of the Johnny Cash classic "Folsom Prison Blues."
Later on that evening, the two attended a private "disco" party where Jamie belted out a rendition of the Gloria Gaynor's classic "I Will Survive."
