A Nashville judge dashed Leann Rimes' hopes of breaking out of her 1995 recording contract with Curb Records on Friday.
The contract in question was signed by LeAnn's parents when the talented teen was 12 years old. It reportedly gives Curb exclusive rights to the singer's recordings, songs and a cut of her future profits.
After the judge announced his decision, LeAnn turned to her dad and said, "I hate you." The 18-year-old is suing her dad and former co-manager Lyle Walker in a Texas court for mismanaging her earnings and bilking her out of $7 million.
LeAnn's dad, Wilbur, said later that he was "very hurt, but confused" by LeAnn's sharp comment because he wasn't involved in the litigation with Curb.
