Martina McBride will go back to the studio to record her new album as soon as her seven-year-old daughter Delaney goes back to school -- but some of her fans think she's ready right now!
Martina's show at Tucson, Arizona's Casino Del Sol left little doubt in some fans' minds that she is the newest country music diva -- without the attitude -- so a writer at the Arizona Daily Star newspaper decided to give her a few "diva pointers."
The article acknowledges that Martina is just as sincere in her performances as she was when she first appeared on the scene, and jokingly decided to give her some diva advice. "Hey, you won the Academy of Country Music's Female Vocalist of the Year nod," the article says. "That's your ticket to hold your head so high you can't see the fans in the lawn screaming out your name. Or the 7-year-old kid in the back with your daughter's name waving a sign..."
"Instead, you acted just as refreshingly honest and sincere as you did when you first blipped the radar a decade ago. You shot [the] audience a smile so warm and friendly that they felt like your friends, not your fans."
To anyone familiar with Martina, this is no surprise. Martina has said that the most important piece of advice she ever received was to be true to herself, and it looks like that advice will continue to dominate her attitude -- even if she is a diva.
