She may be a country superstar and glamorous beauty, but Faith Hill is also getting noticed for her charity work. The World Entertainment News Network reported that Faith recently received the very first Sheltering Hand Award in Nashville, presented to her by Tennessee Baptist Children's Homes, an agency that works with neglected and abused youth. Faith, who was adopted by her family in Mississippi, cried when she received the trophy, saying, "No single child should ever go unloved. They should know that they have a chance, and they have a purpose." She added that the honor was "the most remarkable award that I have ever been given." On October 23rd, Faith continues giving back when she appears at a Beverly Hilton fundraiser called the Carousel of Hope. Jay Leno will be master of ceremonies for the event, which will also feature R&B singer Beyonce and pop vocalist Josh Groban, with the profits slated for juvenile diabetes. Halle Berry will receive a Brass Ring Award that evening, presented to her by Oprah Winfrey.
