When Renée Zellweger attended the British premiere of "Cinderella Man" on September 8 unescorted, The Daily Mail of London asked a few questions about her marriage to country superstar, Kenny Chesney. When asked if her marriage was in trouble, Renée responded, "I'm happily married, but I don't talk about it because I want to keep my precious things precious." The paper noted, "as a single girl, Renée Zellweger was used to braving the red carpet on her own. Now that she is a newlywed, nothing has changed...there was no sign of her husband. While co-star Russell Crowe had brought along his wife Danielle and baby son, Miss Zellweger had to put on her usual solo show."
When Renée was asked where her new husband was, the paper said, "She faltered before saying, 'He is just finishing work.' Then The Daily Mail noted that Kenny's tour ended two weeks ago, and Renée has been alone in Europe the whole time. Kenny does have a concert commitment--to appear at this year's "Farm Aid" in Tinley Park, Ill. on Sunday, September 18.
The article added that Renée and Kenny, both 37, supposedly have only spent 15 days together since their marriage on May 10th. Although she has been in Europe to publicize the movie, Renée flew out to Venice alone on August 29th--despite not having any commitments until four days later. On Tuesday, she arrived in London where she had two more days off before she started her publicity duties. "There is an air of sadness around Renée," a film source said. "Although she has not been talking about whether there are or are not any problems, she has not mentioned her husband at all."
